Intro. to Supercomputing, File Systems & LUMI
Who is this for?
Anyone who wants to know how to perform very large computing tasks.
What will you learn?
In this training course you will:
understand what high-performance computing (HPC) is;
learn basic details about clusters and supercomputers;
effectively perform practical exercises on the national supercomputer Snellius;
apply essential best practices on how to work effectively with large HPC systems.
Choosing the right file system for the job.
Why is this important?
If you need to perform many calculations, or analyses that are too big for your own system, clusters and supercomputers will provide the computing power you need. In this course, you will learn how to work with these large computing systems!
How is the session structured?
Mixture of short talks/lectures and hands-on exercises. Questions and audience participation is highly encouraging, so bring your own questions!
